Conveyancing Fees Increase

Without any fanfare or notification to the market Conveyancing Fees were increased by 25% from 1 July 2009. For the registration of a property for R500 000 the increase amounts to R1 500, increasing from R6000 to R7 500. A R4 000 000 home will now cost R27 500 instead of R22 000. The fee for postage and petties has increased in all cases from R400 to R450.

Attorneys say that the increase is the first that they have received in seven years.
